Polish beer is full of surprises.
Poland is one of the world’s biggest hop producers, especially aromatic varieties. Polish craft brewers proudly use native hops like Izabella, Marynka, and Lubelski alongside stars from the US and New Zealand.
Gdańsk and Polish breweries have brewed beers with pickled cucumbers, beetroot, brine, sea-salt flakes, smoked Łąck plums, and even pine shoots.
While IPA gets the hype, our native Baltic Porter is considered a national treasure by brewers worldwide — and Polish craft porters regularly medal at international competitions.
Fermenting just 3.8 litres of beer takes roughly 36 billion yeast cells. That’s a lot of tiny brewers working hard in every glass.
